Standards and Certifications

Organik is proud of the quality and freshness of its vegetable, herb and fruit products. We try to build quality into every step of our farm to end-user process. These steps include production, processing and distribution. In the production step two words are important. They are Organic and GAP. In the processing step the word HACCP is important.

Organically Grown

"Organically grown" food is food grown using no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Pesticides derived from natural sources (e.g., biological pesticides) may also be used in producing organically grown food. Many producers grow according to accepted organic standards however they are not certified by an external body.

GAP

Good Agricultural Practices, also known as GAP, are a collection of principles applied to on-farm production processes, resulting in safe and healthy food, while taking into account economical, social and environmental sustainability.

Certifications

GLOBALGAP a common standard for farm management practice created in the late 1990s is an acronym for Good Agricultural Practices. It is now the world\'s most widely implemented farm certification scheme. The standard was developed using the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines published by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. It has definitive rules for growers to follow, and each production unit is assessed by independent third party auditors.
English readers can go up to the information provided on GLOBALGAP (see above) for clarification of this certification standard. VietGAP is the Vietnamese equivalent of GLOBALGAP. For more information in Vietnamese on this subject go to the VietGAP site.

Certificated Organic

Many national and private organizations have established organic growing standards against which they measure individual producers. Those producers who meet their standards are issued a certification. For certified organic products on this website, the following certifications are stated in the attributes. These certifications are specific to the products.
